The Association has annually elected
Officers and Management Committee that meets bi-monthly
to ensure that the business community has a voice
that is heard. Its Members work actively in helping
to shape the economic prosperity of the community.
The committee lobbies relevant authorities and
agencies to ensure that member’ concerns
in the area are addressed. By holding events,
both business and social, it hopes to encourage
networking amongst its members.
An informal ‘Drop-in’ Meeting is
held in Central Hove at 6pm on the first Wednesday
of each month. It is open to members, prospective
members and non-members to bring before a Management
Team any business problems or suggestions that
they might have to improve our area or just to
chat generally.
Through
an initiation by HBA and Hove Council the Hove
Business Partnership was formed. An annually
elected group of business people, (HBA members
and non members), meet together with Councillors,
Council Officers, Police and Crime Reduction Officers
at bi-monthly Meetings. They work to improve our
Town Centres. A report of these meetings and other
information is sent to all Town Centre businesses
in the ‘Hove Matters magazine .
The HBA strives to keep its membership updated
on local matters through a newsletter sent out
by e-mail or hard copy after each of its Meetings.
